A passion for creating Golf spaces

The southern region of China is home to several hidden gems that are yet to be discovered by many. Much like South Carolina and Florida’s warm and golf-friendly climates, Guangdong boasts over 20 golf courses, making it an excellent destination to escape the long winter months.VISIT CHINA
Volvo China Open
Mission Hills Shenzhen in Guangdong is one of the most famous golf clubs in the area and has hosted a number of high-profile events, including the World Cup of Golf on several occasions. Shenzhen Golf itself hosted the 2006 Volvo China Open won my Englands Paul Casey
Expert Female Caddies
In line with many Asian countries, most of the local caddies in Guangdong are female. They will accompany you on the back of your buggy, riding shotgun, select clubs, line up shots, and even find wayward balls that may have veered off the course. In between, they will provide positive feedback and encouragement such as “Hoi Choi, good shot!” should you find the fairway or green in regulation.
Guangdong Region
Other notable golf courses in Guangdong include Emerald Lake, Holiday Island, Foshan Golf Club, Lion Lake, Nansha, Guangzhou, and Genzon (Hidden Grace) Wind Valley. One of China’s first professional golfers, Zhang Lian Wei, even has a course named after him.
Tourism in the Area
The courses are close to popular tourist areas such as Hong Kong and Macau, known as China’s very own Las Vegas. You can find a wide range of luxury hotels too in the area at surprisingly affordable prices, with big chains such as Shangri-la, Marriott, and Hilton all present.
Course Style
Despite the absence of rough, Shenzhen Golf Club presents a considerable challenge due to its unforgiving greens. While you can afford to be a bit wayward off the tee without losing a ball, venturing too far from the manicured fairways may leave you behind one of the picturesque lychee trees. The bunkers play their part as well, although extracting yourself from the fairway traps is relatively manageable.
Transport
Taxis or Didi’s as the locals refer to them are cheap. Just a 15 minute ride will set you back less than 10$ US Dollars. Hong Kong is less than 15 minutes away
